IT Professionals for CPA Firms & More

Co-Founder President & CEO

CPA, MCSE Co-Founder Chief Technical Officer

After starting his career as a Certified Public Accountant, Kevin Martin found himself as the “designated technology expert” for the accounting firm for which he and twin brother Konrad both worked. This aptitude evolved into a significant career shift when Kevin and Konrad joined together to form Tech Advisors in 2002.

Kevin’s timing was perfect, as emerging technology was in the early stages of transforming not only the accounting field but virtually all other business segments as well. He has continued to stay a few steps ahead of the technology curve for clients, researching new products, designing new service programs, and managing Tech Advisors’ team of technicians and consultants.

Kevin lives in Medfield, MA with his wife Jennifer, their son Patrick, and daughter Anna. He is an avowed outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hiking, fishing and golf.

Jeff is one of the “originals” at Tech Advisors, joining Konrad and Kevin Martin as a Partner at the outset of the firm in 2002, after spending 10 years as a procurement specialist with a medical device manufacturing company.

Jeff is a Microsoft Certified Professional A+, and has played a key role in advancing the growing range of technology services the company offers to clients in business of all sizes, and across multiple industries. As the Chief Information Director, he now manages the Tech Advisor IT technical staff.

Jeff is a private pilot and also enjoys boating, traveling and “anything techie.” He lives in Marshfield, MA with his wife Maryann and sons, James and Brian.

CPA Chief Financial Officer

You could say J.D. Martin gave his younger brothers, Konrad and Kevin, their start in business. Both worked for his accounting firm in Blue Hill, Maine,  before striking out on their own. J.D. reunited with his brothers in 2019 when he joined Tech Advisors as CFO.

In addition to owning his own CPA firm for 16 years, J.D. had a long career as Director of Finance in Virginia public schools.  For Tech Advisors he manages all things financial, from invoicing and accounts payable, to taxes and payroll.

J.D. lives in King George, VA, with his wife Tracy who teaches first grade. They have three grown children who are all doing well and are a source of pride. JD enjoys their two dogs and cat,  gardening, shooting pool and taking to the open road on his Honda Shadow.

Director of Business Development

Vinny joined Tech Advisors in 2015 and heads our new business efforts. Vinny’s technical background makes him adept at developing elegant solutions to a company’s IT challenges, while his business experience gives him the practical knowledge necessary to create a sound IT infrastructure without “going overboard” with technology.

Vinny has been instrumental in expanding awareness of Tech Advisors into new industries and market segments. He is able to convey to clients our ability – and willingness – to customize technology solutions to address specific needs. There are no “one-size-fits-all” or off-the-shelf solutions at Tech Advisors.

Prior to joining Tech Advisors Vinny was an Account Manager at iSheriff where he designed cloud-based email, web and endpoint security solutions for clients across 18 different territories throughout the US and Canada.

Vinny is CompTIA Project+ (PK0-004) Certified and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

He earned his Associate Degree in IT Support from the University of Phoenix and is presently working toward his Bachelor Degree in Advanced Networking, also from the University of Phoenix. Originally from Farmingdale, NY, Vinny now lives in Mansfield, MA with his wife Connie, and son Vince.  When he is not solving problems for clients Vinny enjoys mountain biking and snowboarding.

vCIO, Client Relations Manager

Jim Young joined the Tech Advisors team in 2021 to fill the important role of Client Relations Manager. One of his primary functions is to give our clients a primary point of contact to coordinate all non-technical needs and serving to streamline our overall communication and accessibility as an IT company.  Another key role he fills is overseeing the ongoing “Technical Business Review” service for each client, which is a periodic comprehensive evaluation of each company’s security, compliance, hardware, and overall IT health. During these reviews, he works with the client to establish and maintain a series of operational and cyber safety standards based on their current IT needs and security posture. These reviews provide a critical, preemptive analysis of each client’s infrastructure and compliance, and allows us to better predict and prepare for any issues before they arise.

Prior to joining Tech Advisors, Jim owned and ran a successful and very client-centric business that provided the consultation, design, and installation of fitness centers in private country clubs around the area. He worked closely with the club management and memberships, providing exercise and therapy services, along with programming and staffing.

He studied at both Champlain College in Vermont and Northeastern University in Boston. His friends and colleagues describe him as a “people person,” making him a great fit for our team and our clients.

Jim grew up in the Lake George, NY area, and still visits his family home there as often as his schedule permits. He enjoys cycling, golfing, boating, and hiking, and lives in Sherborn, MA with his wife and two daughters.

When a client needs a custom-configured IT system the call goes to Kyle Keegan. He is our “go to” guy for designing a system that is based on a clear assessment of a client’s specific business and operational needs – not just an out-of-the-box arrangement. Kyle also is an expert in server and domain administration, networking support, and Help Desk troubleshooting.

Kyle joined Tech Advisors in 2017 after a career with AKA Computer Solutions as a field service technician. A resident of Quincy, MA, he enjoys woodworking and sports – both watching and playing.

Support Engineer

As a Support Engineer on the Help Desk, Catherine Kontogiannis plays a key role in setting up new users and making sure clients are able to get back to work swiftly after hitting a technical snag.

Prior to joining the Tech Advisors team in 2021, she was a Dell Field Service Technician, performing warranty repair work on laptops and desktops in the Boston area.

Catherine’s fascination with technology and repairing things dates back to her childhood days in Arizona. Her father brought home a computer and a book on programming, encouraging the kids to figure it out.   Her mom always made sure that tools were on hand.  So, at 5 years old, she grabbed the wrenches and took off the training wheels on her bike to go riding with the big kids–of course there were some skinned knees along the way.

After graduating from Barry University in Miami, with a B.S. in Chemistry, Catherine worked in the Quality Assurance lab at Althin Medical.   Choosing to stay home while her children were young, she re-entered the workforce as an assistant in the Technology & Engineering classes at Dartmouth Middle School.  Staying in the education space to accommodate her family’s schedule, she also completed a series of Cisco Network Academy courses, earning her CompTIA A+ certification.

During the pandemic Catherine volunteered at her church to setup a YouTube channel to livestream services for the community. She also works to keep their website up to date.  Given the opportunity, she will learn to use just about any technology, especially if someone has an urgent need.

In her spare time, Catherine enjoys gardening and has a special appreciation for National Parks.

Support Engineer

Patrick Keenan joined the Tech Advisors team in 2020, and in so doing, he realized his dream of a career change into the field of IT. Ever since childhood, he has been fascinated by computers, technology, the Internet and what “makes it all tick.”

Patrick came to Tech Advisors after a decade in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, he was Director of Marketing for the Worcester Chamber Music Society. Before that, he was Director of the Willard House and Clock Museum in North Grafton, a world renowned historic house museum which is a site on the National Register of Historic Places.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from UMass Dartmouth and a Masters from Boston University. Currently, he is pursuing a degree in Enterprise IT and is studying for Comp TIA A+ certification.

What Patrick loves about his work here is the chance to help people solve problems.

Outside the office, Patrick enjoys spending time with his daughter Bridget; he also enjoys playing the guitar, and traveling. He has visited Ireland and Germany, as well as many locations in the United States.
